Sponsorship section. Yankey, Tashi and Pema.

The source of Buddha Academy’s funding is entirely from the individual child sponsors and miscellaneous donations from abroad and does not receive any grants from the government. We are now facing the financial crunch to run the school, due to the contributing factors like ever spiraling costs of living and decreasing number of sponsors owing to worldwide economic crisis.

Orphans and destitute children from Dolpa seeking admission in boarding school.
There is continuous influx of requests coming for the new admissions for both the boarding and day scholars. These, we believe, are attributed to the two major factors of our good academic performances over the last many consecutive years and the increasing number of displaced rural folks migrating to the city faced with a very challenging task of sending their children to the school.

Amongst the influx of requests for the new admission of over 100 children, we have taken 46 new boarders and 25 new day scholar in spring 2009.

We have three different categories of our sponsorship scheme:

  1. Full Boarder = US$ 650 or 450 Euro per year per child (covers full cost).
  2. Day Boarder = US$ 300 or 250 Euro per year per child (which covers lunch, stationery, uniform, tuition, library facility, computer lessons, sports etc.)
  3. Day Scholar = US$ 200 or 175 Euros per year per child (which covers tuition, library facility, text books, computer lessons, sports etc.)

We are appealing for continued and new participation in our sponsorship schemes.
